KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 8.53 g, 6 h), Kallatis, circa 250-225. Helmeted head of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet adorned with a coiled serpent on the bowl. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡ[ΟΥ] Nike standing to left, holding olive wreath in her right hand and stylis in her left; to left, monogram of KA. Price 894. Struck from slightly worn dies, otherwise, extremely fine.
